Life Cycle Living
Sacred Fire Santa Monica
Santa Monica, CA, United States
April 28-29, 2018
In our race toward progress and increased productivity, our culture has forgotten so much. All life has a powerful cyclic order. Living with an awareness of life’s cycles aligns us with this natural balance, helping us to lead more connected, empowered lives.
When we adopt this perspective, we discover that life can be easier and more fulfilling than we thought. For example, each stage of our life has an important role to play in naturally producing gifts and opportunities that are readily available, if we understand how to identify them. Ancestral traditions understood this explicitly and worked to maintain this awareness for common benefit.
The Sacred Fire Community is working to reintroduce this awareness so that we and our families and communities can once again benefit from these life currents.
We hope you will join us for this opportunity to explore these invaluable perspectives with our community.
The program is limited to 20 participants. Please register early to reserve your seat.
Saturday: 9:30am – 5:30pm
Sunday: 9:30am – 12:30pm
In this video, presenters and participants of a past Life Cycle Living (Seattle, WA: 2017) discuss what they discovered and why introducing this way of viewing our lives is so important.
A devoted and heartful holistic family doctor, midwife, mother and healer for over 20 years, Lisa Lichtig further serves her greater community as a traditional healer and ceremonial leader. After a long apprenticeship under the guidance of tsaurririkate Eliot Cowan and don Jose Sandoval, Lisa was initiated as a mara’akame of the Huichol healing tradition in 2014. She specializes in helping people feel optimally well and healthy, heal from illness, reconnect with the joy and mystery of life, and find balance in life’s natural cycles. Lisa does this through offering functional medicine, heart-of-birth and parenting consultations, and traditional Huichol healing. Lisa also serves her community as a Firekeeper, supporting her community’s connection to heart through holding monthly community fires, women’s fires, and specialty fires. Finally, Lisa serves on the Sacred Fire Community’s Neikame Birthing Council and the Women’s Initiation Council, which offers adolescent girls a formal process to help them transition into adult women. She lives on a beautiful knoll in North Carolina with her husband, Patrick and carries the scent of fire wherever she roams.
Prema Sheerin is a healer, life coach and teacher, and is the developer of several Sacred Fire Community Lifeways programs, including “The Peaceful Dying Project.” Prema has been initiated as a mara’akame (shaman) in the indigenous Huichol tradition of Mexico and also spent 20 years studying and teaching yoga and meditation within the Siddha Yoga tradition. Prema offers Emotional Wisdom teleclasses as well as one-on-one coaching and healing sessions.
